This policy explains what happens to information when you use Bankruptcy Help Map (bankruptcyhelpmap.com).

The short version

You don't need an account. When you download, copy or print our letter or the checklist, we save the details you entered in that tool. We don't sell this information. We run a cookie-free visit counter to see how many people use the site.

The letter and the checklist

The letter telling a creditor or debt collector about your bankruptcy case and the checklist of what to gather before you file work in your browser, and the PDF, Word and text files are created on your device. When you download the letter or the checklist as a PDF, Word or text file, or copy or print it, we save the information you entered in that form: for example your name, mailing address and phone or email; your state; the creditor or collector you are writing to and its address; the account or reference number; your case number, court, filing date and chapter; your attorney's name and contact; the items you checked; and anything you added in your own words. We also record the page, the date and time, and your approximate location (country, state and city) based on your IP address. We don't save what you type until you download, copy or print.

We use this information to understand what problems people face with debt and bankruptcy, in which states, and to improve our guides and tools. We don't sell it, and we don't share it except with service providers that host our site and database (Cloudflare), or if the law requires it. We keep it for up to three years, then delete it.

Please don't enter information you don't want to share, such as Social Security numbers or full account numbers. To see or delete the information you entered, email hello@robinclaim.com with the name you used, and we will respond within 30 days.

The means test check

The means test check works in your browser. What you enter in it is not saved or sent.

Information collected automatically

Cloudflare, which hosts the site, receives technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the page you request, to deliver the page and protect the site.

We run our own visit counter. It does not use cookies. It keeps a random visit identifier in your browser's local storage. For each visit it records the pages viewed, the site you came from, the time spent on each page, clicks on buttons and links, your IP address, your country, state and city, and your device and browser type. We keep visit records for 5 years and then delete them. We don't use Google Analytics on this site.

Email, children and your rights

If you email us, we use your message only to reply. This site is meant for adults and is not directed at children under 13. You can ask us what we hold about you and ask us to delete it. Residents of states such as California may have additional rights.
